Sights & Activities
From the train station, take the stairs or the funicular (Sfr1.40, open 5.20am to 11.50pm)
down to the centre, a patchwork of interlocking piazzas. Wander through the porticoed
lanes, especially along graceful Via Nassa, and linger around the busy main square, Piazza
della Riforma, with a cappuccino and paper. The piazza is presided over by the 1844 neo-
classical Municipio (town hall) and becomes even more lively when the Tuesday and Fri-
day morning markets are held.
