colonial house, creaky parquet flooring and Creole furnishings throughout, and an enti-
cing menu featuring a small selection of fish and meat dishes. Lunch is a more casual af-
fair, with burgers and light meals (from Rs 160). The terrace at the back opens onto a trop-
ical garden. Lovely.

cluster of craft shops grouped around an old plantation house with a few bits of memorab-
ilia. The rather motley assortment of crafts on offer includes model boats, pottery, paint-
ings, clothing and products fashioned from the hugely versatile coconut tree.
