This muscular villa
was certainly not conceived by the most inspired architect on the island but inside it's
much more welcoming, with six impeccable apartments equipped to a very high standard.
There's also a cheaper, smaller studio for two people (€142). Bathrooms are so meticulous
you could eat off the floor. There's a nifty pool, too. Discounts are available when it's
slack. It's a five-minute jog to the beach. Wi-fi is extra.

This
place is a real heartbreaker. The Seaside building shelters eight rooms that are decorated
with natural materials and enjoy ocean views that will leave you speechless. The Hillside
rooms, which are in a building across the road, are much less inspiring, despite the lush
tropical garden. Amenities include a pool, a little spa and a great wooden sundeck with
direct access to a small (rocky) beach. Alas, prices are very high for what you get and
we've heard a few complaints about poor service.

A re-
liable resort with a staggering bow-shaped lobby and 70 stylish rooms with a modern
design - the bathrooms are not separate from the bedrooms. Rooms are tightly packed to-
gether but face the sea and are buffered by lush gardens. The atmosphere is more convivi-
al than intimate. Facilities include two restaurants, a bar, a spa and a pool. One minus: the
beach is disappointingly thin.

This sunset-
friendly seducer boasts an ace location on a little headland. The 28 units, divided into
three categories, hide coolly among rocks and trees. Rooms vary in shape, size and quality
(the best ones are the Junior suites) and would need a freshen up, but after one sundowner
in the bar overlooking the ocean all will be forgiven. Best of all, there's direct beach ac-
cess and excellent snorkelling options just offshore. There's a minimum stay of four
nights.
