ant, it's an experience, especially at dinner. It occupies a beautiful wood-and-iron colonial
Seychellois mansion. Bring an empty tum - the set

includes fish and aubergine frit-
ters, grilled fish, chicken curry, fish stew, rice and salad, though to be fair you do probably
come here more for the sense of history than for the food. It's on the road to Beau Vallon.

The Balinese-meets-Amazo-
nian decor of this 1st-floor eatery overlooking the clock tower is easy on the eye, with
darkwood furnishings, tropical plants and candlelit tables. The extensive menu takes in
fish, meat, salads, pizzas and ice creams, but the quality of the food is a bit hit-and-miss.

Ask anyone of any age where to go for a
drink in Victoria and this is always the enthusiastic answer. It's no wonder. With a reliable
mix of tourists and locals, well-priced drinks and live music (a crooner with a guitar) on
Friday evening, it's the most fun place in town.

Despite the odd location, in a nondescript building near the
harbour, Level Three Bar is worth considering for its affordable cocktails (Rs 120) and its
cool atmosphere. There's karaoke on Friday evening.
