La Maison de Laurina
( 0692 68 78 72; www.lamaisondulaurina.fr ; 24 Chemin de la Croizure, Grand Coude; admission €11; by reser-
vation) Caffeine-addicts should make a beeline for La Maison de Laurina, whose owner
grows a top-quality variety of coffee, the Bourbon Pointu. Price is a bit steep but it in-
cludes a visit to the plantation and tastings of various homemade delicacies flavoured with
coffee (biscuits, liquor, rum). It's in Grand Coude, in the same location as the B&B
L'Eucalyptus.

( 0262 56 39 48; 24 Chemin de la Croizure, Grand Coude; s/d incl breakfast €34/44, bungalow d €40, dinner €25)
Absolute peace and quiet prevail at this unfussy B&B. Choose between the dinky all-
wood bungalow or one of the two simple rooms in a white-and-yellow Creole building.
Unwind in the generous garden, where coffee and geranium fill the air (ask for a cup of
Bourbon Pointu coffee). Excellent Creole meals are served at dinner - you'll be treated to
homemade desserts and veggies from the garden.

Au Lapin d'Or
( 0692 70 09 18, 0262 56 66 48; rolande.sadehe@hotmail.fr; 55bis Chemin Concession, Jean Petit; s/d incl break-
fast €57/62, dinner €25) Do you like rabbit? We dare ask because the owners of this pert little
B&B (which translates as 'Golden Rabbit') in Jean Petit raise rabbits, meaning you'll en-
joy them prepared Creole-style at dinner. The three rooms are outfitted with cheerful pas-
tels and super-clean bathrooms that, unfortunately, don't have proper doors, just curtains.
Our favourite thing about Au Lapin d'Or is the warm welcome and the genuine smiles.
Don't miss out on their homemade rhum tisane (aromatic rum), best enjoyed under a
gazebo in the garden.
