Eating
While Cilaos is known for its lentils, Hell-Bourg is synonymous with chouchou , a green,
pear-shaped vegetable imported from Brazil in 1834. It comes in salads, gratins and as
chouchou gateau to finish. You can stock up on basic provisions at the grocers and other
food shops along the main road.
