Finally Cilaos has produced a
B&B with style. No rustic decor here but clean lines, muted tones, cutting-edge design,
good mountain views and sparkling bathrooms. Oh, and it's super central. One quibble:
it's above the eponymous restaurant (where the reception is), which means it might be a
bit noisy in the evening.

2012, this very genteel and well-done B&B-cum-hotel has sparsely furnished but spacious
and light rooms (opt for one upstairs). It also runs a restaurant in an adjoining building.

This trim place in a peaceful cul-de-sac is brought to life with lashings of colourful paint
on the facade. Inside, the 10 rooms are modestly furnished and feel a tad compact - if
available, ask for one of the upstairs rooms, which have balconies and afford dashing
views of the Piton des Neiges (especially rooms 6, 7 and 10).

Friendly, un-
fussy two-star hotel on the edge of town. Bright blues, yellows and ochres colour the well-
tended rooms. The upstairs ones have the best views. The owner is very knowledgeable
about hiking.
