Le Vacoa
( 0262 24 12 48; www.levacoa.com ; 54 Rue Antoine de Bertin; d €54-60; ) A five-minute stroll
from the beach, this little two-storey résidence hôtelière (mini-resort) won't knock your
socks off but it contains 15 modern, well-appointed (albeit hanky-sized) rooms arranged
around a central courtyard. There's a kitchen for guests' use and a pocket-sized pool.
Prices drop after three nights. Bonus: four bikes are available (free).
La Maison du Lagon
( 0262 24 30 14; www.lamaisondulagon.com ; 72 Rue Auguste Lacaussade; s €68-102, d €88-123, ste €190, incl
breakfast; ) This villa has a compact but respectable collection of various-sized
rooms, but only two rooms have direct sea views. Tip for couples: book the stand-alone
Zen chalet (€99), which is a sweet spot. The real plus here is the location - it's les pieds
dans l'eau (right by the beach). The pool at the entrance of the property is a bit of a joke,
though. Kids under 12 are not accepted.

La Villa Elixène
( 0692 00 40 91; www.villaelixene.com ; La Souris Chaude; s/d incl breakfast €89/99; ) Florian
gives his guests a genuinely warm welcome at this smart B&B a thong's throw from Plage
de la Souris Chaude. It's a lovely spot to while away a few peaceful days. The large bright
rooms have a luxurious feel with their minimalist lines, soothing colour accents and
sparkling bathrooms. Laze on the shady terrace, lounge by the pool, enjoy the sea views
or step down to the beach just below. Gay-friendly.

Le Dalon Plage
( 0692 04 94 26, 0262 34 29 77; www.ledalon.jimdo.com ; 6 Allée des Tuits Tuits, La Souris Chaude; d €55-65;
) It's just a short amble from the Plage de la Souris Chaude to this hedonistic,
gay-friendly place. Guests are allowed (if not incited) to swim naked in the gleaming
pool. Too prudish? Slumber in the fully equipped, solar-heated bungalow or in the well-
appointed studio. The flowery garden is a feast for the eyes - it helps that François, one of
the two owners, is a gardener. Breakfast/dinner cost €10/20. A good deal.
