Perched on the
cliff just east of Anse aux Anglais, Le Récif has fabulous views from its balcony out over
the emerald lagoon. We reckon it's a touch overpriced and it can have a vaguely aban-
doned air when things are quiet, but the rooms are large and the views are hard to beat
anywhere on the island.

This eccentric
little place at the entrance to Grand Baie has just two rooms but they're kitted out in an
eclectic mix of homey furnishings fashioned by the owner (who can organise diving ex-
cursions) himself. There's even a fish pond where they bite your legs in some weird ther-
apy ritual that the owner swears by.

great choice at the end of the coastal road, this friendly resort comes with an airy restaur-
ant, an inviting swimming pool and a popular on-site dive centre. Vaco paintings adorn
the walls in the rooms, and the beds have colourful duvets to match.
