outdated furniture, with decor that is horribly mismatched, but somehow it all seems to
work. The owner is kind and the apartments come fully outfitted with retro fixtures. Ask
for one of the apartments higher up - although there's no elevator, the views over the
cluttered village and azure sea are memorable.

the furnishings need updating.

chain, this place on Trou aux Douce's outskirts is a reshingly accessible slice of semi-lux-
ury right on the waterfront. The rooms have a white-linen look and most face the sea.
Highly recommended.

There are no signs directing travellers to this address - you'll have to keep your eyes
peeled for the signature toits verts (green roofs). And boy will you be glad you made the
effort! This is one of the best deals in Trou d'Eau Douce, and not just because of its sea-
side location (a rarity in the area). The charmingly decorated rooms have all the mod cons
and sit between the lapping waves and a lush, well-tended garden.
