and lime if it's on the menu. It's signposted off the road from Chamarel to Black River
Gorges National Park.

former hunting lodge is an institution, and it's not too hard to see why. Its stunning loca-
tion offers great views over the forested hillsides towards the ocean, and the superb menu
reads like a veritable ode to your taste buds: tender braised wild boar, prawns flambéed in
Île de France Rum, palm-heart salad with smoked marlin and a laundry list of clever cock-
tails. Reservations are advised.

Getting There & Around
Although there's a bus service from Quatre Bornes to Chamarel, we highly recommend
using private transport. Do not visit Chamarel by taxi - drivers are given exorbitant com-
missions for bringing tourists to the various attractions and tables d'hôtes . You can rent
cars and bicycles from Ropsen in La Gaulette.
