Cap Malheureux village. Accommodation is in impeccably clean studios or apartments
sleeping up to four people; 'gardenside' units are in a newer compound across the road.

Paradise Cove is a five-star boutique resort aimed at honeymooners. Terribly understated
but as utterly luxurious as its name suggests, it's built on an attractive small cove - the
beach is at the end of an inlet from the sea, which gives it remarkable privacy. Other great
touches include a golf course, tennis courts, free watersports, a dive centre, brightly
painted and delightful rooms and 'love nests' on the promontory overlooking the northern
islands. With three restaurants, a Cinq Mondes spa and award-winning gardens, this styl-
ish place is a great destination for couples.

Everyone adores this friendly joint tucked behind the township near the cane farms. The
writing's on the wall (literally) - contented customers have left myriad messages of love
and affection on every flat surface in the restaurant. The tables, however, are graffiti-free
- they're reserved for the excellent seafood specialities. Side note: the letters in the res-
taurant's name are the first initials of the owner (sadly now deceased) and his four sons.
Ironically, the owner didn't speak a lick of Spanish. Delivery available.
Getting There & Away
Buses run roughly every half-hour between Port Louis' Immigration Sq bus station and
Cap Malheureux, via Grand Baie. A taxi to Port Louis will cost Rs 900, to Grand Baie Rs
400 and to the airport Rs 2000.
