It seems almost every building along this stretch of coast is available for rent in some
form. Much of the accommodation is in the midrange bracket and consists of self-catering
apartments, villas and bungalows, often with terraces or balconies for viewing the sunset.

Le Récif is a stylish three-star-superior beachfront resort with a sur-
prisingly reasonable price tag. The rooms are attractively turned out. The soothing public
areas are riddled with pillow-strewn nooks, and there's a spa centre, plunge pool and
plenty of the island's trademark thatch umbrellas.

Definitely one of the more interesting midrange places, Casuarina's Moorish style is
matched by equally inventive apartment layouts. It's also pleasantly small and feels very
relaxed. You have to cross the road to the beach and the cheaper rooms are a little over-
priced, but otherwise this place is great.

Easily the most stylish option in Trou aux Biches, Le Sakoa is instantly recognisable
by its signature high-pitched roofs that match the neighbouring palms both in height and
