The
gîtes de montagne
are managed by the Centrale de Réservation - Île de la Réunion
and must be booked and paid for in advance. This can be done through its website and at
tourist offices. When you pay, you will receive a voucher to be given to the manager of
the
gîte
where you will be staying. You must call the
gîte
to book your meals at least one
day in advance; this can be done at the same time as the original booking if you'd rather,
but meals still have to paid for on the spot.
For the privately owned
gîtes
things are less restrictive in terms of logistics; you can
book directly through the
gîte
.
