Kristo Hotel $$
( 880 444; hotel_kristo@abv.bg; ul Komitrov; s/d/apt incl breakfast 50/70/75 lv;
) Probably Blagoevgrad's most atmospheric place, the Kristo features white walls be-
decked with wood-framed windows and flowering balconies. The cosy, well-furnished
rooms have nice views; many have fireplaces. The hotel's excellent mehana (tavern) is
popular for weekend weddings - book ahead.

Hotel Korona $
( 831 350; www.hotelkorona.inf o ; ul Nikola Vaptsarov 16; s/d/apt incl breakfast from
35/40/50 lv; ) Located a five-minute walk from the centre, in a quieter residential
area, the Korona is popular as much for its restaurant as for anything else. But it's good
value, and the spacious, modern rooms have all mod cons; however, only the larger ones
have bathtubs (the others have showers aimed at the floor).

Hotel Alpha $
( 831 122; www.hotelalpha.net ; ul Kukush 7; s/d/apt 36/45/50 lv; ) One of Bla-
goevgrad's backstreet favourites, this popular place has modern, though slightly cramped
rooms, and the carpeting seems glum. Still, service is friendly and professional. It's a five-
minute walk from the centre.
HOTEL
Hotel Alenmak $$
( 884 076; pl Georgi Izmirliev Makedoncheto; s/d 35/60 lv; ) This renovated,
formerly communist hotel has certainly improved on its appeal, with slick modern rooms
and a central location, though service remains indifferent.
