garian souvenirs such as hand-woven rugs, pottery, silver jewellery, woodcarvings and
CDs of Bulgarian music are available in this crowded shop, though prices are rather high.
There's another branch inside the Royal Palace, at the exit from the Ethnographic Mu-
seum.

Central Hali Shopping Centre
(bul Maria Luisa 25; 7am-9pm; 20) This elegant market hall, built in 1911, has
three floors of shops and cafes. Stalls on the ground floor sell fruit, vegetables, pastries,
wine and cheese. Upstairs there's a cheap food court and more shops. The centre also
holds a pharmacy, post office, bank and ATMs.

Mall of Sofia

biggest and busiest shopping centre, filled with international brand-name stores and coffee
bars. There's a big supermarket in the basement, and a cinema, IMAX screen and food
court on the top floor.

al former state department store, built in 1956, is now an upmarket, five-floor shopping
mall, with clothing, jewellery, perfume and homeware shops. It's eerily quiet, often seem-
ing to have more staff than customers, but it does have some smart free public toilets.
