clean rooms, with four- and six-bed dorms, singles, doubles, and private studios with sep-
arate entrances. Not immediately obvious from street level, the entrance is inside an arca-
de a couple of doors down from a McDonald's.

Set in a private garden off the main road, this place has basic but clean dorms and a
few private twin and double rooms. Staff can organise various day trips and activities, as
well as longer excursions to the mountains.

Certainly one of Sofia's best-located hostels, this welcoming American-run place has 12
smart rooms, all with cable TV, and the friendly, multilingual staff can organise day trips.
Apparently, it's the only place in Sofia to serve kosher breakfast, too.

Opposite the synagogue, Scotty's is a small, stylish, gay-friendly hotel with just
nine rooms, all individually designed and named after international cities, such as the
Cape Town Room, kitted out with zebra-print details.
