The town's most popular open-air summer club with a poolside
location in the Strand, Tequila goes indoors in winter but remains popular for DJ parties,
house, techno and R&B music.
NIGHTCLUB
Tonique Club
(B-dul Republicii 18; 24hr)
There's something obscure bordering on the mysterious
about this dark underground bar that works 24 hours a day. It has a few gambling video
machines in the corner, and is frequented by muscular men singing traditional Romanian
drinking songs, though weekend 'club nights' are more lively. Food is served until 10pm.

ATMs line Piaţa Ştefan cel Mare and the central boulevards. At the time of research, a
new tourist office was being built in the park next to Hotel Ceahlău; the hotel itself offers
