sandwiches from organic ingredients, but we like the smoothies, fresh juices and full
breakfast menu - perfect if your hostel or pension doesn't serve breakfast. There's a pretty
terrace to enjoy it all while looking out onto the square.

central market two blocks west of Piaţa Libertăţii where you can buy produce, meats,
cheeses and bread for train provisions or picnic lunches.

square, all serving a mix of hot and cold beverages and usually some variation of salads
and sandwiches. We like this place for the pleasant staff, the ice-cream cart on site and oc-
casional live music in the evenings.

This is an old villa that's been retro-fitted into a funky coffeehouse with albums pinned to
the wall and chill tunes on the turntable. There are several cosy rooms in which to read,
talk and relax, but our favourite is the lush garden out back, with shady nooks and even
hammocks to stretch out in. Located about 1km south of the city centre near Casa Bunicii.
