Immediately left after you pass north over the river, Piccolo is a short haul uphill on a
quiet road. It has nine clean, whitewashed rooms with reading lights, TVs and en suites.
Add to this a garden dripping in vines, hearty breakfast and friendly management and it's
a winner.

60 rooms spread around a courtyard over three floors, Agape is well placed in the heart of
the city. Some of its rooms feel a little lost in the '70s; that said, shop around for a corner
double (such as room 302) and it's a different story: sunny, spacious and with great views.
There are a number of excellent restaurants here too.
