CHURCH
St Ursuline Church
Heading northeast from Piaţa Mică, you come to the St Ursuline Church, founded by
Dominican monks in the 15th century.
LOWER TOWN
To reach the lower town from Piaţa Mică, you can walk along the road that goes under the
the tricky merchants who met here to trade and the young lovers who declared their 'un-
dying' love on it. If you tell a lie upon it, it's supposed to creak.
CITY WALLS
South of Piaţa Mare, Str Cetăţii lines a section of the old city walls, constructed during the
16th century. As in Braşov, different guilds protected each of the 39 towers. Walk north up

dates from 1849, and frequent temporary exhibitions.
Sibiu was hit by the plague, holes were drilled through the walls to enable corpses to be
evacuated more quickly from the city. The bastion was consequently dubbed the 'gate of
corpses'.

Railway Museum

The so-called Railway Museum is an open-air collection of a
couple of dozen old trains right off the tracks. South of the train station; it's across the
tracks, 300m south.
