Cota 2000 station. In the centre, the 30-person cable-car leaves half-hourly with two sta-
tion points marked by elevation. Finally, buses outside Snow, just below the station, also
go up to Cota 1400 (5 lei) when full; a taxi from the train station to Cota 1400 is a matter
of negotiation, though expect to pay about 40 lei for the whole cab or 14 lei per person.
Predeal

Distinguished by its sci-fi-style train station, and ghostly wooden villas in varying states
of decay on the hill opposite, Predeal's natural assets are a little more impressive: the sur-
rounding forests are home to boar, wolves, foxes and deer. The town offers the first oppor-
tunity you'll hit heading south of Braşov. At 1033m, this resort is higher than Poiana
Braşov or Sinaia, but the runs aren't as long and it misses the most popular access points
into the Bucegi Mountains. Just south of town is the official border of Transylvania.

Activities
There are 13 hiking trails in the area. The loop from near Fulg de Nea up the mountain to
the southern end of Str Poliştoaca takes about two hours. Trails north of town are open for
cycling too.
