slice of Hansel and Gretel, this gingerbread-roofed hotel is a delight. Rooms are cosy with
clean en suites. Staff, however, surrounded by pilgrimage paraphernalia in reception,
could do with a lick of humour. Head to the excellent Vanatoresc, its sister restaurant
across the courtyard and up the hill. Festooned in bear furs and stag antlers, this former
hunter's lodge is a fun place to take your complimentary breakfast

dramatic, who's complaining? There's a terrace bar to drink up the panorama, a drab res-
taurant, a sauna, a games room and myriad rooms with fresh en suites, TVs, and space. If
you're bear-inclined, Yogis tend to visit the hotel car park after midnight.
