The server will run on your local machine for testing purposes. However, for any real-world
application, you will need to install a production version of the software on a web server.
The ElectroServer admin tool
BecauseElectroServerisasocketserver,itlistensonaspecifiedportforcommunicationfrom
the JavaScript client using one of the supported protocols. ElectroServer supports multiple
protocols, but we need to make sure we are using the
BinaryHTTP
protocol for the JavaScript
API. The default port for BinaryHTTP in ElectroServer is 8989.
NOTE
When the ElectroServer JavaScript API is updated to support WebSockets, the port and protocol will
likely be different.
