TUTORIAL
2 (Adding
Appearances
to Faces,
Surfaces,
and
Features)
SolidWorks allows you to apply different appearances on a single part. For example, you
can display some faces of the geometry differently from others. To add different appear-
ances to the part geometry, you need to understand hierarchy in which the appearances are
added. For example, if you add an appearance to the entire part, and then add a different
appearance to a part feature, the feature appearance will be added on top of the part ap-
pearance. If you add a new appearance to a face of the feature, the face appearance will be
added on top of the feature appearance.
1.
Open the Tutorial 2 part file.
Now, you need to add appearance to the Boss-Extrude feature, as shown.
2.
Right click on the Boss-Extrude feature and select Appearances > Boss-Ex-
trude .
