The region is criss-crossed by a plethora of
sentiers balisés
(marked walking paths).
Between 1 July and 15 September paths in heavily forested areas are closed due to the
high risk of forest fire. Always check with the local tourist office before setting off.
Tourist offices are also a good port of call for guided nature walks.
