tion of the very best - note that many are in French only.
»Fédération Française de Randonnée Pédestre ( Click here ) has the most comprehensive
walking guides; some are now available as ebooks.
»The excellent Guides RandOxygène ( www.randoxygene.org ) , published by the Alpes-
Maritimes département , include three walking guides, as well as mountain-biking, canyon-
ing and snow-shoe guides detailing itineraries of varying difficulty. Tourist offices stock
the paper guides; electronic versions are available on the website.
»Non-French speakers will love Walker's Provence in a Box by Adrian Woodford, a col-
lection of 35 illustrated walking itineraries, each printed on a card and presented in a box.
»Download cycling, mountain-biking or walking itineraries from Escapado
( www.escapado.fr ) ; it is also available as an app.
»The Var département ( www.var.fr ) publishes an excellent cycling topoguide for the St-
Tropez to Toulon area containing 22 detailed itineraries, which you can download.
» IGN ( www.ign.fr ) is France's official mapping body and has a range of topographical
maps.
