Wine Tasting
No meal in Provence-Côte d'Azur would be complete without a glass of chilled rosé or
aromatic red, and so a trip to a vineyard is a must. (For details on Provençal wine, their
characteristics and the best places to buy them, Click here ) .
Wine can be bought direct from the producteur (wine producer) or vignoble (vineyard),
most of whom offer dégustation (tasting), allowing you to sample two or three vintages
with no obligation to buy. Lists of estates, caves (wine cellars) and cooperatives are avail-
able from tourist offices and maisons des vins (wine houses - generally the official repres-
entative of a vintage, for instance Côtes de Provence or Bandol).
