Smoking is banned in public places in France, which includes communal areas in hotels.
This doesn't apply to bedrooms however, which are considered private. It is therefore up to
the hotelier to decide whether they allow smoking in rooms or not. Whatever your disposi-
tion, ask for a room that caters to your preference.
