The easiest way from Nice is via autoroute to Ventimiglia, Italy, then north back in-
to France, toward Col de Tende (Italian signs read 'Colle di Tenda'). The tortuous moun-
tain roads around Sospel (especially from the Vésubie) are ideal for motorcyclists but not
the faint of heart.
