Getting There & Away

buses.
Air Aéroport Marseille-Provence ( Click here ) is 25km southwest and served by regular
shuttles.
Bus Aix' bus station ( 04 42 91 26 80, 08 91 02 40 25; av de l'Europe) is a 10-minute
walk southwest from La Rotonde. Sunday service is limited. Services include Marseille
(€5, 35 minutes via autoroute, one hour via D8), Arles (€9.20, 1½ hours), Avignon
(€17.40, 1¼ hours) and Toulon (€12, one hour).
Train Tiny city centre train station , at the southern end of av Victor Hugo, serves Mar-
seille (€8, 45 minutes).
Aix' TGV station , 15km from the centre and accessible by shuttle, serves most of
France. To Marseille it's 12 minutes (€8, 20 daily).
Getting Around
Circumnavigating the old town is a nightmare and metered street parking spaces hard to
find. Parking lots (about €15 per 24 hours) are plentiful, but if you're staying a few days
and want to ditch your car, drop bags at the hotel and park at on the edge of town at Parc
Relais Route des Alpes ( 6.30am-9pm Mon-Sat;
1, 23, Mini 3) or Parc Relais
Hauts de Brunet (24hr €2;
1) and take the free shuttle to the centre.

13) link Aix' bus station and the TGV station (€3.70) or the airport (€8) from 4.40am to
10.30pm.
