Car
Marseille is a horror for drivers. Central car parks include Parking Bourse (rue Reine El-
isabeth; Vieux Port) and Parking de Gaulle (22 place du Général de Gaulle; Vieux Port)
off La Canebière. Expect to pay €2 per hour (€15 per day). Transpass holders can use
cheaper Relais ( www.rtm.fr ) parking lots at the city's edge (for less than 24 hour only).
Public Tranport
Marseille has two metro lines (Métro 1 and Métro 2), two tram lines (yellow and green)
and an extensive bus network, run by the Régie des Transports Marseillais (RTM). Bus,
metro or tram tickets (€1.50) can be used on all public transportation for one hour after
they've been time-stamped. A Transpass for one/three/seven days costs €5/10.50/12.
Bus services stop around 9.30pm, when night buses operate until 12.30am. Most start in
front of the Espace Infos RTM ( 04 91 91 92 10; www.rtm.fr ; 6 rue des Fabres;
8.30am-6pm Mon-Fri, 9am-12.30pm & 2-5.30pm Sat; Vieux Port) , where you can ob-
