Les Chênes Verts €€€
( 04 94 70 55 06; rte de Villecroze, D51, Tourtour; menus €57; lunch & dinner
Thu-Mon Aug-May)
It might seem odd that this walled property shuts in June and July.
But there is good reason. The Green Oaks is famed for its luxurious truffle cuisine: winter
food! The stiff waiters and eclectic decor are hardly wowing, but the cuisine is irreproach-
able.
