June
Bloomsday
On 16 June folk wander around the city dressed in Edwardian gear, talking nonsense in
dramatic tones. They're not mad; they're only Bloomsdayers commemorating James
Joyce's epic Ulysses through readings, performances and re-created meals.
Taste of Dublin
Since 2005 the city's best restaurateurs have shared their secrets and their dishes with each
other and the public at the wonderful Taste of Dublin in the Iveagh Gardens, which takes
place over a long weekend in June and features talks, demonstrations and lessons as well as
the chance to eat some extraordinary grub.
Forbidden Fruit
An alternative music festival in the grounds of the Irish Museum of Modern Art over the
first weekend in June. ( www.forbiddenfruit.ie )
Women's Mini-Marathon
A 10km charity run on the second Sunday of the month that attracts up to 40,000 parti-
cipants (including some poorly disguised men).
