In-Depth Information
Ergonomics is not a fad. Ergonomics is an
important organizational consideration especially
given the growth of mobile computing including
“hot-desking” (Hanson, 2004), telecommuting,
and using mobile computing devices, like hand-
held computers. End user ergonomic issues can
have a dramatic effect on the work environment.
The question is whether the effect will be positive
or negative. The good news is the outcome can
be influenced, and sometimes determined, with
intentional efforts on the part of both end users
and managers.
