SLEEPING
Hotel pricing in Nassau is a tricky business. Some tatty, bare-bones establishments charge
shockingly high prices, while plush modern resorts may offer quite reasonable internet
rates or last-minute deals. Prices zip up and down depending on the season and the current
economic climate. It definitely pays to shop around. There are ways to find reduced rates
(up to 60%), at all budget levels, with a bit of easy planning. Many hotel websites offer
lower rates not available through tour operators, or have room plus airfare deals. See Click
here for more information.
Downtown Nassau
In general, downtown Nassau hotels tend to be smaller and cheaper than those in Cable
Beach. Paradise Island resorts top the scale, both in terms of luxury and rates. It is likely
that many Cable Beach hotels and adjacent businesses are to be demolished to make room
for the Baha Mar megaresort and casino complex, which probably means a price hike in
Cable Beach, so get there while the gettin's good.
