SAND & SPA
As if lounging on powder-white sand or floating in the warm aqua ocean wasn't
relaxing enough, Nassau spas offer a full menu of beach-inspired pampering
services.
» At Paradise Island's Atlantis ( Click here ) , the Mandara Spa
( www.mandaraspa.com ) is as opulent as the hotel itself, with a marble-and-ma-
hogany lobby and orchids everywhere. Choose Eastern- or Western-style mas-
sages, Bahamian-flavored body treatments (try the divine lime and ginger salt
rubdown) or an array of salon services. A second location, in the exclusive One
& Only Ocean Club ( Click here ), has private Balinese-style villas, each with its
own garden sitting area. Experience the signature One & Only massage, where
two therapists blend five different styles of massage (Shiatsu, Thai, Hawaiian,
Swedish and Balinese) until you're reduced to a quivering jelly.
» In the Marley Resort ( Click here ), Bob Marley's former Bahamian getaway,
the Natural Mystic Spa ( www.marleyresort.com ) offers Afro-Carib-
bean-inflected treatments inspired by Marley's wife Rita. Try the Jamaican Cof-
fee Scrub or the Royal Rita Bath of orange blossoms, red clay and roses.
» The trendy Compass Point Beach Resort's Barefoot Retreat
( www.compasspointbeachresort.com ) has a long list of reflexology, wrap and
rubdown treatments, including a couple's-only twilight massage.
» For the nonspa types, various operators on Cable Beach and Cabbage Beach
offer ocean-front massages on the spot!
