nature trips, and has a famous shallow-water dolphin experience perfect for those too

eagle rays, swimming with the infamous pigs of Exuma.
ENTERTAINMENT
Vibrant rake 'n' scrape music, Junkanoo dancing and impromptu drum circles entertain
kids of all ages. Many restaurants feature live music on weekends and the atmosphere stays
family-friendly until 10pm or 11pm. Local Fish Fries are also a great place for kids to bop
their heads to the beat and maybe even make a few local pals.
DINING
Bahamian cuisine - heavy on starches like rice, sweet potatoes and mac 'n' cheese - tends
to suit young palates just fine. Local restaurants are very casual and family- friendly. Just
watch out for desserts like guava duff (boiled jellyroll pastries filled with sweetened guava
paste), which sometimes contain a healthy slug of rum!
Most tourist-heavy areas have plenty of casual family-friendly dining. With the excep-
tion of a handful of very high-end establishments in Nassau, Paradise Island and Harbour
Island, kids are welcome almost anywhere.
