Bahamians are generally very cautious and civilized drivers. Main roads are normally in
relatively good condition, but minor roads can be a riot of potholes and mud, barely pass-
ably except by four-wheel drive. Believe any Bahamian who warns you that a road is in
bad condition.
DRIVER'S LICENSE
To rent a car you must be 21 (some companies rent only to those 25 or older) and must
have a current license for your home country or state. Visitors can drive using their home
license for up to three months.
