EATING & DRINKING
Provo has by far the best eating options in the country: those on a budget have the choice
of some fun pubs and family-style restaurants, while those looking for a truly memorable
experience have several excellent options.
DOWNTOWN & TURTLE COVE
Baci Ristorante ITALIAN $$
( 941-3044; Harbour Towne Plaza, Turtle Cove; mains $10-30; lunch & dinner)
Maritime chic at its best with wrought-iron scrollwork lining the ceilings, all with an au-
thentic Italian-infused flavor overlooking the marina. There's a cheap lunch menu offer-
ing paninis and pasta ($10 to $14), while the evening menu is more traditionally Italian
(carpaccio, scaloppini al limone , steaks). Book ahead for the evening.
Magnolia Restaurant & Wine Bar MODERN CARIBBEAN $$$
( 941-5108; Turtle Cove; mains from $22-35; dinner Tue-Sat) Sitting on the hill
overlooking Turtle Cove, Magnolia is a great place for a romantic meal, with superb (if
pricey) cooking and an equally lovely view over the lights of the cove. The fairy-light-
rimmed balcony is the perfect setting for the signature dish, a cracked-pepper and sesame-
encrusted rare-seared tuna, which is so tender it melts in your mouth. The restaurant has
an ample wine list to choose from and the service is impeccable. Book ahead to get a table
with a good view. The wine bar is open from 4pm daily, so this is also a great spot for a
sundowner cocktail, even if you don't plan to eat.
Somewhere Café & Lounge MEXICAN $$
(Coral Gardens, Leeward Hwy, Turtle Cove; mains $12-25; breakfast, lunch & dinner)
This charmingly laid back two-floor beach cabaña is a treat any time of the day. Good
breakfasts, spicy Mexican dishes, delicious pastries and a lively bar make this one of the
few places in Provo where you'll meet a young and fun crowd.
Tiki Hut INTERNATIONAL $$
(Turtle Cove Marina; mains from $16; 11am-10pm Mon-Fri, 9am-10pm Sat & Sun) Set
right on the wharf at Turtle Cove Marina, this popular spot is where you can sit with a cold
