$150; ) A brand new addition to Long Island's accommodations options is this very
attractive two-floor plantation-style house. All white timbers and green trim, it contains
four spacious apartments, each sleeping up to four people. Deal's Beach is just on the other
side of the main road, where you'll also find the Beach Bungalow Restaurant.
King's Bay Resort

and breezy location atop the dunes on the Atlantic shore north of McKann's. There's a huge
beach and snorkeling equipment is free for guests. There's a restaurant and bar serving Ba-
hamian food.

Chez Pierre Bahamas

here is one of the best on the island, though unless you're a guest at the hotel you should
definitely call ahead, as the eponymous Pierre can be a little cantankerous when people
simply drop by unannounced. The interesting menu is French and Italian with a heavy em-
phasis on pasta and seafood, accompanied by a good wine list and all served up in the styl-
ishly simple dining room.

(Deal's; mains $8-16; ) This new beach restaurant is a great spot to kick back with a
cold beer at the end of the day on the terrace overlooking lovely Deal's Beach. It's also a
great spot for a meal, with very tasty pizza, burgers, a killer steak sandwich and a range of
Bahamian dishes.

Hwy serves up local dishes and is a popular local spot for a beer at any time of the day.
