BOAT
If traveling in your own boat, George Town is the official port of entry to the Exumas.
You'll need to call ahead to arrange clearance with
Customs

Immigration
( 242-345-2569) , both in the Government Administration Building on
Queen's Hwy . You will also require a special sailing license for traveling around the is-
lands.
Ferry
An overnight ferry on
Bahamas Ferries

leaves Nassau
(one way $60) at 8:30pm on Monday and Wednesday and arrives in George Town at
6:30am the following day.
Mail Boat
If you fancy taking it slow, two mail boats connect the Exumas to Nassau.
Grand Master
Departs Nassau for George Town (one way $40, 12 hours) at 2pm Tuesday
and returns to Nassau at 7am on Friday.
Lady Eddina
Departs Nassau for Exuma Cays, Barraterre, Staniel Cay, Black Point, Farm-
er's Cay and Highbourn's Cay (one way $40, 12 hours) at 1pm on Tuesday. It then carries
on to San Salvador. The return journey begins at 9am Saturday in San Salvador. Contact

Getting Around
You will need your own transportation if you want to explore the island outside George
Town's immediate vicinity.
