SLEEPING & EATING
Edge of the World CABINS $
( 242-335-5077; villas $50; ) Kim and Terry, a welcoming American-Bahamian
couple, rent out three dollhouse-tiny cabins, all cleverly appointed with mini- kitchenettes
and sleeping lofts. The sloping hillside property is lush with coconut palms and purple
lilies; a meditation garden is in the works. A steep path goes down to the harbor, where you
can launch a borrowed kayak for an afternoon paddle.
Cove Eleuthera HOTEL $$$
( 242-335-5142; www.thecoveeleuthera.com ; Queen'sHwy; r $245-294, ste $410-465;
) Jaw-dropping views over the secluded green cove make up for slightly dated fa-
cilities that don't quite live up to their luxury billing. The cream-and-rattan restaurant is a
friendly place for lunch with a view.
DRINKING
Elvina's BAR
( 242-335-5032; Queen's Hwy) Tuesday and Friday jam nights are legendary at Elv-
ina's, an old-school party shack just around the bend from town. By 9:30pm the place is
rumblin' to the rafters with half-hour sets by locals and visiting musicians. You might just
see local landowner Lenny Kravitz strolling through the upbeat crowd of low-key locals,
over-served yachties, sun-dried surfers and befuddled tourists who can't figure out where
all these people came from.
