Big John's MOTEL $$
( 242-347-3117; www.bigjohnshotel.com ; King's Hwy, Alice Town; r $150-175; )
Although its claims of being a 'boutique hotel' are puzzling, this friendly blue motel is
plenty nice, with seven sunny white rooms above a popular bar by the ferry dock.
Seacrest Hotel & Marina MOTEL $$

side $100/135, ste $225-320; ) Take a 3rd-floor room for views over the marina at this
pleasant yellow motel. Room facilities include cable TV and a fridge. The beach is a five-
minute walk away.
Thirsty Turtle HOTEL $
( 242-347-4444; South Bimini; r with/without kitchen $80/120; ) This South Bimini

EATING
Most hotels and pubs around town offer basic meals. Think fried fish, peas 'n' rice, ham-
burgers.
Sabor INTERNATIONAL $$$
( 242-347-3500; Bimini Bay Resort; mains $18-48; lunch & dinner) A touch of
South Beach in Bimini, this swanky white-and-slate bistro serves what might be termed
'jetsetter comfort food' - steak frites, paella, herb-grilled lobster tail. Poolside lunches of
Cuban sandwiches and coconut ice cream are divine, as are tropical cocktails at the long
hammered copper bar. The location, deep within the grounds of the Bimini Bay Resort, is
worlds away from scrappy Alice Town.
Captain Bob's BAHAMIAN $$
(King's Hwy, Alice Town; mains $8-26; breakfast, lunch & dinner) This frills-free cafe
is a longtime local favorite, with walls papered in fading 'big fish' pictures and a menu
of sandwiches and deep-fried Bahamian fare. A top pick for big, hearty breakfasts before
along day of bonefishing.
