Air

Freeport/Lucaya. Each additional passenger costs $3. Displayed fares are set by the gov-
ernment.
Boat
Cruise ships dock at Freeport Harbour, west of town. Taxis meet all cruise ships and charge
$20/27 to Freeport/Lucaya.

in McLean's Town, Pinder's Ferry Service ( 242-353-3093; one way $50; ferry

is not generally a convenient way to travel to Abaco, as land transportation is sketchy to
nonexistent from Freeport to McLean's Town and from Crown Haven to Marsh Harbour,
2½ hours south. If you go this route, ask the Pinder's people to hook you up with a rental
car on the other side.
Bus
A handful of private minibuses operate as 'public buses' on assigned routes from the bus
depot downtown at Winn Dixie Plaza, Freeport, traveling as far afield as West End and
McLean's Town. Buses are frequent and depart when the driver decides there are enough
passengers. In Lucaya, the main bus stop is on Seahorse Dr, 400yd west of the Port Lucaya
Marketplace.
One-way fares from Freetown include Port Lucaya Marketplace ($1.25), East End ($8,
twice daily) and West End ($4, twice daily). Though drivers are meant to stick to their cir-
