neon-green lighting. One of celebrity chef Nobu Matsuhisa's many international outposts,
this is one of Nassau's hottest tickets. Choose from a range of designer sushi rolls or noodle
dishes, or go with Matsuhisa's signature black cod with miso. 'Live conch' sashimi is not
for the faint of heart. Decor might be described as 'Zen on steroids' - towering ceilings,
avant-garde light fixtures, glowing stone sushi bar.
Dune FUSION $$$
( 242-363-2501; oceanclub.oneandonlyresorts.com ; One & Only Ocean Club; mains
$22-60; breakfast, lunch & dinner) International celebrity chef Jean-Georges Von-
gerichten created the menu at this ultrachic (and ultrapricey) fusion restaurant, on the beach
in front of the genteel One & Only Ocean Club hotel. The menu globe hops with impun-
ity: Asian fish dishes, French-inflected lamb, Caribbean- flavored calamari. Don't miss
Jean-Georges' signature molten chocolate cake (he's said to have invented the now-ubi-
quitous dessert). The minimalist black-painted dining room seems to float above the dune;

sea.

sau grouper with sauce Béarnaise), created by megachef Jean-Georges Vongerichten, gets
mixed reviews from diners.
Carmine's ITALIAN $$$
( www.atlantis.com ; Marina Village; mains $34-46; dinner; ) Waits for dinner at this
theme park-y Italian joint routinely top an hour or more, which speaks to its popularity
among vacationing families. All the classics are here: spaghetti with meatballs, chicken
parmigiana, tiramisu, all big enough to feed a crowd. Be aware that 'family friendly' does
not mean 'budget friendly' - a plate of spaghetti with garlic and oil will cost you upwards
of $30, which is not much less than an entrée at one of the island's truly fine dining spots.
Mosaic BUFFET $$$
(Cove Atlantis; breakfast/lunch/dinner buffet $32/35/60; breakfast, lunch & dinner;
) Any anti-buffet prejudices will evaporate at this luxe all-you-can-eat spot, with endless
