such soft, moist spreads as goat cheese, soft-cooked eggs, and pesto. In the mid-
dle are a range of meats and vegetables, from corned beef and meatloaf to mari-
nated white anchovies or black trumpet mushrooms and white truffle fondue. My
favorite is the falling-apart-tender slow-roasted pork smothered in red cabbage
with jalapeno and mustard ($9), but all of the 'wiches are good, especially consid-
ering that a meal here will only cost between $6 and $9 tops. Note to carb-
phobes: If you ask, they'll take the sandwich ingredients and sprinkle them over
mixed greens at no extra cost. There's pleasant seating, though no table service, so
you may just want to take your 'wich and head out to the fab pools out back—if
you have a room key to pass the guards (or a convincing enough story on why
you're lacking a key).

Cheap, quickie meals are also available across Las Vegas Boulevard in the New
York-New York food court (set along the Disneyfied back-alleys of “Greenwich
Village”). Along with mediocre deli food, ribs and Chinese are two better-than-
decent fast food joints:
