groovy '70s Vegas sensibility that's perfect for the couple looking to giggle their
way into wedded life. I'm talking a sparkly antacid pink and white room, com-
plete with a gleaming white grand player piano programmed with arpeggio-heavy,
romantic pop tunes, which play the guests in before the ceremony. (The chapel
holds a maximum of 20.) Kudos go to the staff here, an extremely experienced
and peppy bunch, formerly of A Special Memory Chapel (before it changed
hands). Joni Moss, the manager, is a VP of the Nevada Wedding Association and
one of the most knowledgeable, gracious people in the industry.
Lushly tropical, flower-filled, and watery . . . no, I'm not suggesting you jet
off to Hawaii. If you can't afford a trip to the islands, your next best option is
The Garden Chapel 555 (in Flamingo Las Vegas; % 800/933 - 7993 or 702/733 -
3232; www.harrahs.com; basic package $ 425; Mon-Fri and Sun 9am-7pm, Sat
9am-9pm). Really, I mean it. These 15 acres of meandering streams, strutting
flamingos, and extensive greenery are among the classiest setting for vow-taking
on the Strip, a surprise to anyone who has only visited the casino itself, which is
showing its age. Among the five options for couples are a pretty vine-covered
white gazebo (in an area that can hold up to 110) and a mini-Niagara Falls, where
the bride makes a dramatic entrance, totally dry, from inside the waterfall (now
there's a photo op). An indoor chapel is available for the rare rainy day, but other-
wise it should be skipped—you choose this location for its spectacular gardens.
