With some application, you can have breakfast in the desert, lunch under a hilltop pine and
dinner eating fresh bananas from the subtropical Jordan Valley. There are not many places
in the world where the land exhibits such extraordinary diversity within such a compact
area. For the naturalist, this is what makes Jordan a dream. Thankfully Jordanian authorit-
ies have been quick to recognise the country's appeal in this regard and have put in place
several ecotourism projects aimed at encouraging nature-loving visitors. Whether you're a
