next day in Petra. Some hotels organise DVDs or other entertainment, but only when there

( 2156266; beer/cocktails JD6.500/4.500; 4pm-11pm; ) You can't come to Petra
and miss the oldest bar in the world. Occupying a 2000-year-old Nabataean rock tomb,
this blue-lit Petra hot spot has been known to stay open until 4am on busy summer nights.
Sit among the spirits, alcoholic or otherwise, and you'll soon get a flavour of Petra you
hadn't bargained on (including the 26% tax and service charge!). The menu includes deli-
cious comfort food such as potato wedges and fish and chips that you may feel you've
earned after a day's exercise in Petra. Don't be put off by the loud music at the entrance:
the noise stops there. The restaurant and bar is next to the entrance to Petra Guest House,
behind Petra Visitor Centre.
